There are moments in life when every path seems uncertain. The questions that come up. The what if, the would have been, or should have. Sometimes the memories of flooded thoughts looping over and over.
Do we stay where we are or begin again? What did I learn? What have I gained? Sometimes no amount of journaling or thinking about a situations fixes the issue. Sometimes just being there, on the sand, waves, salt air, and sunshine. Does water and the ocean bring a balance that we as humans seek. Or do we bring balance to our own life, when we seek the water.
Do we hold on a little longer, or is it finally time to let go?
Crossroads rarely announce themselves with certainty. More often, they arrive quietly, leaving us standing between what was and what might be.
When life feels that way, I find myself drawn to the ocean.
Not because it has all the answers.
But because it has a remarkable way of quieting the questions.
There is something about watching wave after wave meet the shore that reminds us not everything must be solved today. The tide never rushes. It arrives when it is meant to arrive and retreats when it is time to leave.
Nature has no need to hurry.
Perhaps neither do we.
The shoreline teaches us that clarity often comes after we become still.
When the wind settles, the water becomes calm enough to reflect the sky.
Our minds work much the same way.
When we fill every quiet moment with noise, worry, and endless decisions, it becomes difficult to recognize what our hearts have been trying to tell us all along.
Sometimes the greatest gift we can give ourselves isnโt another opinion or another plan.
Itโs a walk.
A slow walk beside the water.
Leave your phone tucked away.
Listen to the rhythm of the waves.
Notice the gulls drifting overhead, the shells scattered in the sand, and the endless horizon stretching farther than you can see.
The ocean has a way of reminding us that life is bigger than the decision standing in front of us.
Some answers donโt arrive in a single moment.
They arrive one peaceful step at a time.
You may not leave the beach with every question answered.
But you may leave feeling lighter.
More grounded.
More hopeful.
And sometimes, that quiet sense of peace is the very beginning of clarity.
The next time life brings you to a crossroads, donโt feel pressured to have every answer.
Instead, find a shoreline.
Stand where the waves meet the sand.
Take a deep breath.
The ocean may not choose your path for you.
But it has a beautiful way of helping you see it more clearly.
Love, M
